How to get involved with the new Government Kickstart scheme

It is now more important than ever to help young people in the current economic climate who are a critical part of our future workforce. More young people than ever can join the governments Kickstart Programme and get job ready.


How do I apply?

Once you have identified that you can offer one or more trainee placement’s on the kickstart scheme click on the link below and complete the questionnaire, we shall check your eligibility and submit an application form to the DWP for you as we are doing for the other employers we are working with.

What do I have to do?

As an employer you will be required to deal with their Wages, PAYE and National Insurance all reclaimable as HMRC subscribed employer, you will be required to give the kick-start a meaningful work-placement for 6 months, after which you can engage and offer full time employment or end the placement, we will guide you through this process if necessary. We shall undertake to provide all your support network, training and assessment required to comply with government rules. Easing the pressure on you and your business and leaving you to get the most out of your new employee.

How can using an intermediary work for me?

The government requires assurance that you as an employer can deliver comprehensive support. As an employer and running a business this can be difficult and time consuming. We shall support your kick-starter making sure they achieve the training and goals the government are looking for.

What Training & Support is provided in the scheme by Digital Training Northeast.

· Monthly personal development reviews (1 2 1’s), the frequency can be increased if needed

· CV writing

· Interview skills

· Understanding the importance of time keeping & attendance

· How to join the workplace

· How to be safe in the workplace

· How to use the Digital Tools of the workplace

· How do you interact with your workplace

· Support looking for long term work

· Communication skills

· Teamworking skills

Who are potential kick-starters?

This scheme has been specifically been designed to help those young adults aged 16 to 24 who are currently being supported by Universal Credit and who may be at risk of long-term unemployment.
